As of February 2015, the United Kingdom Visas & Immigration (UKVI) service has announced a new IELTS test which VISA applicants can take as an additional option to the existing Academic IELTS. The IELTS Life Skills test is administered by the same organization as the university application Academic IELTS test, but focuses on Listening and Speaking skills at levels A1 or B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Public Accountants and CPA Australia have officially endorsed the TOEFL certificate as the required proof of English language proficiency, putting the accounting profession in line with the forthcoming skilled migration regulations changes.

Helen Cook, ETS Australasia Associate Director, announced this decision and confirmed the change will be valid for international graduates and skilled migrants applying not only for student and skilled visas, but also for professional accreditation.

The TOEFL test is administered in 180 countries, so accounting employers can access a new and diverse pool of capable employees who must demonstrate exactly how well they can function in English.

Current and future professionals seeking accounting accreditation in Australia will take a key step in order to gain access to their future potential by focusing on adding a current TOEFL certificate to their résumés.

A tricky question most of our students ask us is: "What do homework and fun have in common?"

Well, you see, one of the simplest mistakes to make on Sentence Correction questions in the GMAT is not to instantly spot incorrect subject-verb agreement.
